Welcome to Restaurante Martilota

Pl. de la Paloma, 28801 Alcalá de Henares, Madrid, Spain

General Info

Restaurante Martilota is the kind of restaurant that feels easy to settle into, especially for diners looking for a relaxed meal in a central Spanish setting. Located at Pl. de la Paloma, 28801 Alcalá de Henares, Madrid, Spain, this spot fits naturally into the local dining scene with a menu that brings together comfort, creativity, and a polished table service experience. It works well for anyone reading reviews and searching for a restaurant where the food feels thoughtful without making the visit feel too formal.

The menu at Restaurante Martilota has a nice balance of savory plates and memorable desserts. Ensaladilla de Pulpo is a strong choice for those who enjoy seafood flavors with a creamy, familiar Spanish touch, while Gofre de Foie adds a richer and more playful note to the table. Croquetas de Carabineros also stand out as the kind of dish that makes sharing feel natural, especially when paired with something from the great wine list. Since wine is part of the experience here, the restaurant suits diners who enjoy taking their time rather than rushing through a quick meal.

For a dine-in visit, Restaurante Martilota gives off the impression of a place where the details matter. Table service helps the meal feel smooth, and the availability of debit card payments makes the experience practical for everyday dining as well as planned meals with friends, family, or colleagues. The location also gives it a convenient feel for people exploring Alcalá de Henares and looking for a restaurant that offers both character and comfort.

Dessert deserves its own attention on the menu. Postre is clearly part of the restaurant’s appeal, and Tarta de Queso Manchego gives the sweet side of the meal a local, distinctive personality. It is a fitting option after richer dishes like Gofre de Foie or Croquetas de Carabineros, bringing the meal toward a smooth finish without feeling ordinary. For diners comparing locations and reviews before choosing where to eat, Restaurante Martilota offers a confident mix of Spanish-inspired plates, dessert options, wine, and attentive dine-in service in a setting that feels welcoming, flavorful, and easy to recommend.

“ Now visited 3 times. Wonderful food, top class. Flavours are Michelin star standard. Great staff and atmosphere. Reservations highly recommended. This is my favourite restaurant in Spain ”

“ This place is a vibe and a half. Beautiful faux garden throughout with four distinct dining experiences both indoors and outdoors. The menu wasn’t what we expected and we are glad we were able to branch out a bit from the rhythm of tapas and basic menus. We enjoyed everything right down to the last bites. The presentation and selections made us feel like we could have paid double for this meal back in Chicago. Dessert and seafood made this experience unforgettable. The waiter even treated us to shots at the end of the meal. ”

“ ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS FOOD (— BUT A BIT OVERPRICED) There is no denying that there has gone a great deal of thought into the interior and exterior design of the Martilota Restaurant. It's just nice! The rustic bronce exterior and thoughtfully arranged spaced of the interior, as well as the many many plants (which are literally everywhere) just make the place lively and utterly comfortable; 'you just wanna stay and spend the whole afternoon'-type of comparable. Top! The rooftop bar is the crown jewel and the forthcoming, kind, and smiling staff is the cherry on top. Lovely! But the atmosphere, naturally, is not the only reason to take a seat at the Martilota, the food's important too, right? Right! And it's delicious! Simply well-prepared, beautifully served, delicious food. This is what you'd expect from restaurant food (as opposed to that deep-fried, high-cholesterol, heart-attack inducing junk we're served all over the country). This place did something different (at least on the dishes my family and I ordered) than most other places, sadly all-too-rarely seen; our food didn't swim in excessive amounts of oil for once. 5-stars all around! I'm super happy! Only reason the overall score isn't 5 but 4 stars, is because the whole experience is a bit overpriced, but it's somewhat defensible due to the fabulous location and endearing service. Good job Martilota, keep it up! ”
